Frequently Asked Questions

  • At this time, we are not accepting Private cover. We have adjusted our rates to compensate for this.

  • Fees per session are $180 and sessions last one hour.

  • I work with couples, but on an individual basis. I find that more work gets done and clients are more open and honest, enabling us to get more meaningful work done to facilitate whatever your relationship goals may be.

  • How long is a piece of string? Typically therapy will last anywhere between 3-8 sessions, but this of course depends on the severity and duration of the issue and how much work the client is willing to do towards their own personal journey.

  • When we work together, building a relationship of trust and respect is paramount to achieving positive results. We create a supporting, empathetic environment with the aim of becoming a strong, working team, striving to create the meaningful change you desire. Our work is always collaborative and we will only move in directions which you are in agreement with.

  • As in any behaviourist counselling, you are going to get more out of therapy if you put in more. We are a team in a working relationship. Most of the work happens between sessions, applying what we agree on in session. We discuss your personal situation with empathy and care, collaboratively create plans, anticipate barriers, troubleshoot and test. We experiment, refine, and build until you are comfortable in the positive change you have built.

The vast majority of clients who come to see us in session report significant positive change in their lives. Feedback has been over whelmingly positive and is the main reason we keep doing what we’re doing.

In any therapeutic relationship, whether it be us, another therapist or another therapy model, the level of trust and connection a person has in their mental health care practitioner plays the greatest role in whether the therapy will be successful or not. If for any reason, either of us feel it may not be a match, we can refer on to another practitioner who may be better suited to your specific needs, however that may be.

As in life, there are no guarantees of success, however we can guarantee one thing. If you do nothing, nothing will change. The fact you are reading this is your first step and a testament to your willingness to create positive, meaningful change in your life.

  • Paddington Therapy Works is a bespoke home practice. It’s a beautiful, stylish and calming environment affording the privacy not always given in public buildings or offices. The feedback has consistently been exceedingly positive and often the preferred environment for therapy. There are multiple areas for therapy work and audio visual aids when necessary for facilitating skills training. Parents of adolescents are welcome to visit the space as well should they be curious about where the work takes place! All clients are welcome.
